Joey DeGraw is a widely known independent recording artist, songwriter,
voice over actor, and NYC based entrepreneur. His current record, "Say
Something Strong," was recently released on National Underground Records
and distributed by SONY RED.
The brother of Platinum Recording Artist, Gavin DeGraw, Joey has toured throughout the US and Europe and has appeared on television shows including CW11 in New York City, Fox TV Good Day Dallas and Fox TV Good Day Austin, and radio shows including The Jonathan Clarke Show on 104.3 FM in New York City and the Matt Pinfield Morning Show on 92.3 FM in New York City. Joey was also a regular guest on the nationally syndicated Joey Reynolds radio show.
Joey has written with artists including Joss Stone and Chris Barron of
The Spin Doctors both of whom appear on his record, as do Gavin DeGraw and
Leslie West.
As a noted voice over actor, Joey has been the voice of A&E Television Network and ITunes, and has performed voiceover spots for major corporations such as Denny's, Coca -Cola, Capri Sun, Gillette to name a few.
Joey is co-owner with Gavin DeGraw, of The National Underground, 159 E Houston, NYC, a roots rock/ Americana music venue situated on the Lower East Side. The National Underground has attracted recording artists such as Norah Jones, Moby, Billie Jo Armstrong of Green Day and John Popper of Blues Traveler and Sports figures such as NASCAR Champion, Jimmie Johnson, who recently named The National Underground as one of his favorite places in New York City, in an NBC interview.
Clarke is frequently called upon as a music industry expert and has
been seen on interviews recently that aired on MSG, CNBC, Court TV, NY1,
WABC-TV, and the WB11 and has
been spotlighted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post , The New York Daily News and other publications numerous times. For more than nine years, Clarke’s been showing his support to
musicians with a forum dedicated to showcasing their latest music in his weekly
Sunday night show on Q1043. “Out
of the Box,” a show that spins deep cuts from new CD's by classic rock
artists, new music from newer artists, as well as music from the garages,
basements and lofts of the many undiscovered artists and bands in the NYC
tri-state area. Green Day, Brian Wilson, Julian Lennon,

He was also on-air at several radio stations in the NYC tri-state area
including WDHA in North Jersey and WPDH in Poughkeepsie. While on the airwaves for the past 18 years, Clarke stood out from his
peers with his extensive background as an A&R person, rock historian/
interviewer and journalist. He
started his career as a charts researcher for Billboard Publications before
heading to Arista Records as a
national director PR. During his
tenure there, he also successfully signed The
Samples to Arista with Clive Davis
in conjunction with his A&R activities. Clarke also held high level
creative positions at the Hard
Rock Live Television show, and
I.R.S. Records with Miles
Copeland. Clarke also been a contributing writer to industry trade magazine Hits
and Creem Magazine, profiling various recording stars and industry execs. An active member of N.A.R.A.S, A.S.C.A.P and A.F.T.R.A and a singer/songwriter/producer in his own
right, Clarke continues to record/produce original music for himself and other

1997, and continues to be on the air there. Clarke is also host and executive
producer of the highly rated “Out of the
Box,” show on Q1043, a show
